Forgotten Classic Video of the Week

I thought this might be appropriate as we approach Halloween - it's "Possum Kingdom" by The Toadies. Is it about a vampire? Is it about a serial killer? It's up to you. Either way, his lady friend isn't coming back from that lake.

For me, the scariest thing about this song is that it's 13 years old. Seems like just yesterday that I was jumping around to this in celebration of having aced my finals. *sigh*

P.S. Sorry I've been neglecting my blog and yours. I've been a bit under the weather for the last few days.

I've never seen that video before. Not what I picture when I hear the song. Interesting.

Feel better, BeckEye!

I know what this is. You're setting me up. We've come to the end of the Scrabble match and your last hope is to plant the seeds of "illness" so that I might take pity upon you and let you win.

You really are shameless, aren't you?

(p.s. Seriously, I really hope you feel better soon. Is it a cold? Flu?)

(p.p.s. OMG! See that?! See how you reeled me in? You're so sneaky! I have my eye on you!)

13 years? It's hard to believe. Seems like this song was popular just yesterday.
I always wondered if the Toadies were named after the Minutemen song of the same name but was always too lazy to figure it out. Still am.

Nice to know that some things never change.
13 years? Wow, I'm old. Hope you feel better, I'm sick too.

I love this song! And yes, we're all getting old.

I'd never seen the video, but I knew what was going on in the song. I actually went out with a girl who had dated Todd (the singer) all during their "hard years" and then he dumped her when they hit it big (or at least as big as they were back then) with Rubbernecker. She said he turned into a complete asshole.
I think "classic" implies 20 years or more. Don't make me feel older than I am! This was a college fave for me too.

Getting old isn't so bad. It sure beats the alternative.

Now getting old and being sick... that really sucks.

Hope you feel better soon.

I've never seen the video before, either. But it is one of my very favorite songs. Does that make me Emo, or Goth? Does anyone pushing 40 get to be Emo or Goth?
