Forgotten Classic Video of the Week

It may seem like I'm late with the vid this week, but I was actually waiting until today, so I could post something appropriate for this made-up Hallmark/Kay Jewelers/Godiva holiday.

Of course, I only had to look to "Weird Al" Yankovic for a great Anti-Valentine's Day song. Here is the classic, "One More Minute." Even if you're one of those annoying schmoopy-schmoopy couples, you should still be able to enjoy this one.

If you're looking for more Anti-V Day stuff, check out my latest Starpulse post for a list of must-have songs and movies. There should be something on there for everyone, whether you're down with love or just someone who refuses to be tied down. (Not that way...you know what I mean, pervs.)

Excellent choice... it's one of my favorite moments in music history history when Al sings "I'd rather clean all the bathrooms in grand central station with my tongue" while his head appears in the center of a collection of images of toilets.

Good stuff, I've never heard that before.

I don't follow holidays religiously (pun intended), we're getting together tomorrow, but I do like a nice card from my man. Chocolate and flowers? I'm not THAT much of a girl.

One of my all time favorite lines:

'cuz I'm stranded all alone in the gas station of love, and I have to use the self service pump.
Can't stop thinking about refusing to be tied down now, thanks.

Would you believe a friend and I performed this at our high school talent show and earned 2nd place? According to many, we only lost because the judges wanted a girls' team to win. Alas, politics...
Weird Al's non-parody songs never quite worked, even the Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota, or whatever that one was called. I do remember Dare To Be Stupid from Transformers the movie, the good movie, the animated one from the 1980's.

Too funny! I had forgotten about that song....

To say this is a song that shaped my childhood would be hyperbole, but to deny it's impact on my development would be travesty.
I'd add 'You're No Good' by Linda Ronstadt' to the list of anti-Valentine Day songs.

Now you have me wondering what ever happened to Weird Al....

Weird Al always has the right words for any situation, doesn't he? :)
