I'm actually kind of surprised that I hadn't already posted this week's vid by now, because it was one of my absolute favorite songs throughout my early 20s and it still holds up as a great sing-along-with-the-windows-down jam. From 1993's Become What You Are, this is "My Sister" by The Juliana Hatfield Three. Enjoy.
Oh, I almost forgot to spurt some useless trivia. The red set design and the part where Juliana is sitting on the floor are both a nod to The Police's "Roxanne" video. Now you can sleep.

Speaking of big things, I went to the Big Star tribute show on Saturday night here in Memphis. The original drummer, Jody Stephens, performed with a couple of other surviving members along with special guests like Mike Mills of REM, some dude from The Raconteurs that's not Jack White (Brendan something), and my new musical crush, Sondre Lerche. Here's Sondre at SXSW with the Big Star guys:

Do you know who else has paid tribute to Big Star? Evan Dando. And who appeared with him on the Lemonheads album Shame about Ray? Julianna Hatfield. I love bringing my train of thought full circle.
According to Sondre Lerche's website "Sirius XM Radio will be featuring the show on their station The Loft! The Loft will broadcast the show as the centerpiece to their Memorial Day Weekend, airing it Saturday May 29th at 6 PM (EDT), Sunday May 30 at 7 AM (EDT) and Monday May 31 at 6 PM (EDT). The Loft is Sirius 29 and XM 50." It's definitely worth a listen! Brendan Benson's performances are near the end of the 2 hour (?) set.
