We're Not Gonna Take It, Steve Alter! And Neither Will Billy Chenowith!

I'm sure everyone remembers the Twisted Sister video for "We're Not Gonna Take It". Remember the kid at the beginning? The one who said,"I wanna rock" and blasted Niedermeyer (or The Maestro, depending on your frame of reference) out the window with one guitar chord? Well, I always thought that kid was cute because he looked like a young John Travolta. I've often wondered how that kid grew up. I figured if he looked like John Travolta as a boy, chances were good that he'd grow up to be pretty hot.

I'd like to thank the IMDB for confirming my suspicions. That kid did grow up to be hot. Not quite John Travolta, but still pretty good. In fact, he grew up to be my "Number Three Man", right behind Johnny and Eddie Vedder. That kid was Jeremy Sisto!

As soon as I read it, I knew it was true. But I rushed over to You Tube just to catch another glimpse of the video to make sure. That's Jeremy, all right. That's Jeremy looking like Vinnie Barbarino's younger brother. They really don't look alike now, but they're still both sexy beasts with the one trait I love most - a nice, thick head of dark hair. (Well, John's is thinning a bit these days, but it still looks good.)

This is one of those little trivia tidbits that I love finding out. I don't know how I didn't discover it until now. Regardless, my week is made.

Hey Jeremy, I wanna rock too.

**Update - Futher photographic evidence for the "non-believers"...

Look at the mouth. It's totally the same. And those eyes....and that thick, lustrous brunette mane. (Thanks to Jeremy Sisto's World for the shot on the right. Lots of good pics and info over there!)

That video and the 'I wanna rock' video were two of the greatest videos of their time. They were silly, but I loved them as a teenager and probably still like them.
"Whadda you want to do with your life?!"

That's amazing! As I recall, he didn't even play a chord but just Milli-Vanilli-ed it. That's spooky, I've seen the video about fifty times and I can't reconcile the younger version with the adult Jeremy.

The original version of the song was on the radio and Procrastinator Jr. said, "what did they do with the 'Goofy Goober Song?" I had to explain to him that they changed the lyrics for the SpongeBob SquarePants movie.

One of the best videos of the 1980s I say. I am still not completely convinced that kid is Sisto after rewatching the video a couple of times. The kids nose in the video is really big and shnozzy. I mean there's definitely a resemblance and you're right about IMDB reporting it. That video came out in 1984 making Sisto 11 at the time and that kid looks a little older than 11 I say, but it's just my theory. I am glad you were able to dig the relic up on YouTube -- I love that site!

I'm off to find further proof that the kid is Jeremy. Damn, I wish I could get a personal interview. Although somehow I think I'd forget to ask that question.

WP - The Goofy Goober song is actually a spoof of I Wanna Rock. I made sure I had that song on-hand after I took my nieces to see the Spongebob movie (opening weekend mind you, because Aunt BeckEye was more excited about it than the young'uns)so they would know why I found it so funny.

I DO remember that video. Wow that brunette-maned guy is way hot! You will have to let us know when you find out more. He does resemble him, most definitely!

I told Canadian Mark that for my birthday this year, I wanted a dishwasher named Juan. I've changed my mind. I want a dishwasher named Sisto. Can you arrange this somehow? You can, right?

PS - I went to the face recognition link you posted on my blog. The celebrity I most resemble is HUGH JACKMAN. I don't know who to get mad at.
"I took my nieces to see the Spongebob movie (opening weekend mind you, because Aunt BeckEye was more excited about it than the young'uns)"

The local "Modern Rock" station played the semi-censored version of "Add It Up" by the Violent Femmes (someone check the temperature in Hades) and Procrastinator Jr. didn't like them.

I explained to him that it was the same group that did an alternative version of the "SpongeBob SquarePants" theme and he thought I was putting him on.

I reluntantly see the resemblance and did visit that web site, but I am still not 100% convinced.

Way to do your research BeckEye. The ultimate way to settle this pressing debate will be when you get that interview with Jeremy Sisto.

#1 John Travolta is gay.
#2 John Travolta is bald.
#3 Eddie Vedder is a midget.
#4 Jeremy Sisto is hot.

Actually - Jeremy Sisto may have been in that video (I don't remember who the other kids were) but he is NOT the kid who gets yelled at by the dad.

I know this because *I* was that kid!
