Forgotten Classic Video of the Week

I'm posting this video because I was inexplicably singing this song all day yesterday. I'm still sick, so you can blame it on the delirium, I suppose. C'mon and "Give it Up" for K.C. and the Sunshine Band. They made a noble attempt to survive past the disco era.

I have no idea what's going on in this video. It's like some horrible amalgam of ideas borrowed from Star Wars, Mad Max and Solid Gold. You know what this video needs? That old guy from the Corey Hart video.

They also need those whiny kids from that hairdressing school reality show.

"Baby Give it up" as in give up these weird drug induced bondage parties. I don't understand why the pixie has them all escape the bad guys by hiding in the hot tub that disappears.

I love the forgotten video of the week feature. Baby, don't give it up.

I'd like to hear from the producer that came up with this concept. Was this the product of a drug-addled mind, an extremely high fever, or a lame attempt to be obscure and esoteric?

I have a different theory on some of the ideas for videos. It is that there are people sitting in a room laughing their ass off at the public for thinking some of this shit is "art" or has a deep meaning.
I had never heard that song before in my life - now I'm going to have to listen to Rollercoaster of Love on a loop for about a week to detoxify.

Yayyy! I love this song. I'll watch this video later. I look forward to its incomprehensible badness, which will in no way dull my enjoyment of the song.

Well at least I'm no longer singing "Grandma got run over by a reindeer". Thanks.
You know what my life needs? That guy from the Corey Hart video.

Which old guy from the Corey Hart video? The boss (the R. Lee Ermey acolyte), the Indian who stares off sadly into the desert, or the buckaroo with the crooked mouth?

Ah, K.C. and the Sunshine Band. K.C. now qualifies as an old guy as well.

The video is odd, but I remember this song. I've always enjoyed KC.

There's a whole lot of craptacular going on in this video. It is excellent!

What's with the girl from Thundercats doing the exotic dance at the party?

I blame your video choice on your frequent nips at the Nyquil!

I used to have an inexplicable crush on him. And it was before I started drinking so I really have no excuse.

I gotta say, there were worse hits in the '80s...

You know, watching this makes me think that CGI is a pretty good thing after all. Looks like the music equivalent of low budget monster movies from the fifties.

I hate to say it but this is my favorite song of his. I do need to work on an interview with him. An accident around the release of the single didn't let him promote it and pretty much derailed a subsequent single. I still remember singing the song ad nauseum.
