Forgotten Classic Video of the Week

As many of you know, I went to see Pat Benatar last weekend, and she was fab-o. She pulled out all the songs that I expected to hear and her voice is still amazing. (Her hubby, Neil Giraldo, is totally white-haired now, but still kind of hot.) Her "dancing" hasn't changed or improved at all, but singers who can actually sing don't have to dance like trained monkeys. (This rule completely excuses Michael Johns' dazzling array of hilarious white man moves.)

One song that was unsurprisingly absent from Pat's setlist was "Little Too Late," a favorite of mine from 1982's Get Nervous. I remember seeing this video and wanting her outfit soooo badly. Well, I had a hot pink shirt (who didn't?) but my Dad wasn't about to buy a 9 year-old an expensive leather jacket, tiny miniskirt and pink high heels.

Some years later, I impulsively bought a pair of hot pink 3-inch heels. I put them on once and nearly died on the short trip from my closet to my bedroom door. Just one more waste of money in this girl's life.

Nice song choice, this is a good one! Glad she still kicks ass live, I really enjoyed seeing her.

I had white 3-inch heels with a bow on the toes... omg they hurt.

She was so smokin' hot. I also could not afford that outfit back in the day, but I saved up every penny for a year and wound up looking like the hookers from "Love is a Battlefield."

Glad to hear the old gal still rocks.
Did you feel like a nine-year old all over again?

I too can't walk in heels. Pat was a staple growing up for me. She was all over the radio. Her and Prince are like the soundtrack to my life in the 80s. Oh and Bruce. Then I got a skateboard and found out about Metallica. And Janes Addiction.

I love the pounding drum intro to this tune. Should have been a bigger hit IMO.

It doesn't surprise me that she still puts on a good show. I am guessing that "The Ooh Ooh Song" probably didn't make her set list either. That's another underappreciated song from the Benatar catalog.
Her remake of "You Better Run" is one of the rare occasions where a cover is fifty times better than the original.
She's awesome. I'm a little fascinated by her.

I'm too traumatized over the knowledge that you were nine in 1982 to go further ..........

I kid you not, I had a pair of platforms that were close to six inches high - and I'm 5'7 so you can imagine.... If they weren't flat on the bottom I would be dead right now.

I bet Pat puts on a great show - were there more women in the audience than guys? She'll be in my area soon.

a great forgotten classic video that I would love to see is some Gary Moore, like "Parisienne Walkways"

Just sayin.

I just saw Pat on a soap opera, she still looks damn good.
But just imagine how you could do the boob shimmy if you still had those pink high heels. I think you need to go shopping.
I love how guitar guy is playing with his cigarette in his mouth.

Oh, I had the Get Nervous album too. Little Too Late kicked ass! Remember the video to Love is a Battlefeild? OMG, the dance moves were soooo funny haha! :O)
PS
3 inch pink heels sound deadly! I just may have bought them too!

Pat still has the pipes. I saw her sing live on Emeril's show and she can cook too!
