Out on Bale*

*I could really work for the New York Post. That's not a good thing.

Christian Bale, star of The Dark Knight, was arrested today for allegedly beating up his mom and sister. He was released after a few hours and, of course, denies all claims of abuse.

I don't know if he did it or not, but have you seen his mom and sister? They totally had it coming.

My favorite part of this whole story is this excerpt from the above-linked article: "The actor was arrested hours after he attended the London premiere of The Dark Knight. The British paper, The Sun, claimed police did not question the actor Monday because they did not want to interfere with the premiere."

Now, granted, Bale wasn't accused of killing anyone, but still. If you go to the trouble of making a formal complaint to the police that someone assaulted you, you'd like to think that it would be followed up on pretty quickly, right?

I can just imagine the talk down at the police station that day. "Aw chief, I don't want to arrest Batman! Especially not today. I mean, I bought these movie tickets, like, two months ago!"

EDIT: I realize that since Bale was arrested in the UK, the policeman's lament would have been more along the lines of, "Oh bollocks, commander! I shan't pinch Batman today! Not on your Nellie! I procured these bloody film passes yonks ago!"

Here I thought we all got the same level of justice :}

In these matters, it's often the victims who don't want the police to embarrass the celebrity relative. I'ts kind of complex sometimes .

I read that article and thought the exact same thing. Good to know they take their assault complaints seriously in the UK.

I think we should give him a break until we find out what those annoying dames were doing to him.

We really should wait & see what the charges really are. I mean, when your mum & sister are Catwoman & Poison Ivy, a little assault is part of the deal ;-)

ChanceLucky has it right--this may have been at the request of the family.

And doesn't the fact that the authorities only questioned him and didn't file any charges suggest that they have very little on him?

I think his mom and sister are hhhhawt.
Wait a minute! How can a bat and a cat be brother and sister? I'm so confused and I took a genetics course in university. If I didn't know better, I would say you were trying to 'ave me on, govnah.
This just goes to prove that women everywhere won't shut their big yaps.

What I think is kind of weird is that everyone is broadcasting the run-in with the law as if during this "assault" he actually hit them, but corrections are starting to pop up explaining that it was verbal assault, which is illegal in the UK.

Evidently, you can't yell at people there. How weird is that?! How do they get anywhere in traffic?

The British policeman also would have said "Oy! Wot's all this, then?"

i've read VERY little about this so far, but i must say i kind of hope happy villain is right, because being arrested for mouthing off would be fairly hilarious.
