Forgotten Classic Video of the Week

This week's video is "Jelly Roll" by late-'80s "super-group," Blue Murder. I put super-group in quotes because, well, the members were John Sykes of Whitesnake, Carmen Appice of Vanilla Fudge, and Tony Franklin, the puffy haired dude from yet another "super-group," The Firm. Not all that impressive. Hell, The Firm was only half of a super-group, but Paul Rodgers and Jimmy Page had enough super-ness to carry Franklin and the bald dude. I really don't think the guy from Vanilla Fudge or the David Coverdale soundalike have that kind of power. So, as Butthead might say, this group isn't very super.

This song rocks though.

Blonde dude has enough hair to play in seven hair bands.

Carmine Appice was with Dio as well....

My best friend used to be the hair metal guy and I was the devil-metal guy...I remember this all too well, he played this damned song just about every time I got in the car with him.
I don't know what's going on. What's going on? What's a Carmine Appice?
Would have been 10x better if the *woman* was the topless one washing the horse.

The Appice brothers Carmine and Vinnie played in EVERY hard rock band in the 80's...

Love the fact the chick comes back out of the house in a teddy. Happened to me all the time back then.

This video is so ripe with 80's power ballad imagery that it boogles the mind that they could fit it all in one video. The hair, the leather, the massive amounts of jewelry, the teddy, the thunderstorm, the sun shining through the cracks in the barn as he raises his fist in the air. Man, they don't make 'em like this anymore.

Doc

P.S.- I was disappointed there was no actual jelly roll.

This rocks way more than I'd like to admit.

The part where he tears his wife beater and is on his knees in the rain, wow, that was like Shakespeare.
