I Call Abdullshit

Oh c'mon, this is just another negotiation strategy, right? A scare tactic? A call to arms for all Idol fans? It has to be, right?

I know I said that four judges is one too many, but it's more specifically one Kara too many. Look, I know I mess with Paula a lot, but it's out of love. She can't leave! Who's going to be my "magnet of joy?" KARA?? Eff to the no! Kara won't critique people before they sing. Kara can't do the seal clap. Kara can't hear colors. Kara doesn't know where the pocket is. KARA DOESN'T DARE TO DANCE IN THE PATH OF GREATNESS!! Sure, DioHarpy thinks that Studio 57 was a real place, but not because she's drunk or stoned. She's just stupid.

Okay, I'm not going to get all atwitter (ha ha) about this. Until I get a REAL confirmation from a reliable source (tweets aren't exactly binding contracts), I am going to just assume that P-Ab will be returning next season.

ETA: Well, according to EW, FOX has confirmed that Paula has tweeted the truth. *sigh* I'm still hoping for a last minute change of heart. Unless Paula knows that this show is going in the shitter sans Glambert and wants to make a dramatic exit now.

Who knows what's for sure or not, but I'll miss her. In each season, Paula was always good for one blog whenever the music part of the show was especially boring, Paula was always good for one unpredictably weird moment.

I heard this this morning as I flipped on the Today Show and the first thing that came to my mind was, "I wonder what Becky is going make of all this?"

I'm pretty sure ratings and watchability are going to suffer. I think that's why some of those other talent contect shows don't do as well, they don't have a doofus like Paula train wrecking the place up.

I don't know if it's true or not, but I'm sure the show wouldn't survive more than a season without her. Randy, Simon and Kara? No.

You know, Abdul was the one that brought balance to the show and I loved the interactions between her and Simon plus all the loony, whacky stuff that she used to do. She grows on you and you love her because her heart's in the right place.

Kara? bitch, please! I can't stomach her. Do you think Paula felt it was one woman too many and decided to bow out? Shame on her for doing so, if that's the case, because I would've thought she would be a better fighter.

I don't know if I'll tune in next year. It will be boring. I don't know if Simon alone can swing it without his partner-in-crime.
Pawler is a gonner...

I think it's a sign that the end is coming, kind of like raining frogs, or locusts or something.

Maybe Paula Abdul will be to the American Idol what Brett Favre has been to the NFL.

Oh well, if the ratings for AI go in the tank, they can always open the following season with Paula in the shower and pretend that her leaving was all a dream.

I thought it was interesting they revealed that Kara's returning this week then suddenly after all these weeks of speculation Paula announces this. It's like she thought, "OH God, I can't sit next to that smug attention whore for a whole other season!" and got out.

Not that I love Paula or anything, but I'm so glad to be done with this show.

I don't even watch and I can't believe it... Paula's crazy antics were the only reason I ever would.

AI must have been cutting into her drinking time.

But it's sad, I agree. Kara and no Paula?! Think maybe they can talk Sharon Osbourne into taking Paula's place? THAT I would LOVE to see!!

Oh, DAMN!, Cora is on to something there. I'm with you on the poking fun of McDrunky-drunk out of love, but I would never want to see her leave! I originally really liked Kara, then came over to your dark side during the season. Now I'm going to have to hate her with the intensity of a million burning suns and make Paula a martyr.

Poor, poor Paula. Perhaps she can sit in the parking handing out her jewelry and feel their "vibe".
I definitely made the right choice to divorce this show after last season. Not that she was "talented" or "competent", but Paula was definitely something to talk about.

Also, mjenks's comment cracked my ass up.

P.S., word ver is "robase". I wonder if anyone else got "djezrock"?

I just finished reading why she left. Who can blame her!! Simon's making $30 mil/year, Seacrest is making $10 and she's making $2? hello!! She's actually making less considerably than the host! Unreal! I, for one, plan to boycott. I won't be watching it unless she comes back
on.
Well there really is no point in me starting to watch this show now, is there? I only liked it for your recaps anyway.

I'll miss her too, she is annoying and weird and inarticulate but she keeps the whole thing real and colourful and laughable.

I don't think she's any dimmer than the Randster, and probably a lot more talented.

Kara is a phoney, no question.

I fear this is another case of women of a certain age getting the reject button
