Forgotten Classic Video of the Week

As much of an '80s kid as I am, I can't seem to bring myself out of the '90s lately. The Gen Y music trend continues this week with "Here and Now" by Letters To Cleo. Chicks may remember this song from its inclusion on the Melrose Place soundtrack, and dudes may remember lead singer Kay Hanley from their wet dreams. Oh, and let's face it, dudes watched Melrose Place too.

Dear Lord, it's like you were hiding in the bushes, watching my secret shame and taking notes in the hopes that some day you could electronically publish them for all the world to read.

Yeah, I admit that watched "Smell My Nose Or My Face" (which is what I called it), but I never knew what the hell Kay was singing besides "Here And Now."

The Teen just asked me know "what is up with that scatting? And that guitar is wrong."

I'd forgotten how much I liked that song. Thanks

Comment #1: Kay Hanley's outfit was standard sexywear for the early '90s. Right when I'm in college, it becomes supercool for hot women to put on LAYERS of clothing. There's no friggin' justice in the world.

Comment #2: I totally loved Kay Hanley until her blog convinced me to watch "2G1C," and now I love her but also kinda fear her.

Comment #3: I don't know what scares me more, that Kay loved "2G1C" or that she loved touring with Miley Cyrus.

God, I had totally forgotten Letters to Cleo even existed.

Kind of like I had forgotten that Josi Bisset existed. Worst actress EVER!

I knew this was from one of the soundtracks to an Aaron Spelling show from the 1990s. I couldn't remember if it was 90210 or Melrose (no shame in my game, I watched them both). Hearing this song takes me back to the days when "Alternative Nation" was at its peak.

Never watched Melrose. Can we still be friends? I recognized the crap out of this song, though, as soon as it started.

I love Kay Hanley and her pigtails. She was also the singing voice for Josie And The Pussycats, which is perfect. When I looked at Wikipedia to double-check that fact, I found out she also named one of her kids Henry Aaron. Can this chick be any cooler?

Their version of "Cruel to be Kind" keeps popping up on my shuffle. I don't think I've heard this song before. I may never know because I'd rather read than click right now.

Who Does This Broad Think She Is?

My photo
I am a winsome muse who was sent to Earth to inspire an artist to turn a vacant building into the world's coolest disco roller rink. We fell in love along the way, and I foolishly gave up my immortality. When the disco craze ended and all the roller rinks were shut down, that lazy bum wouldn't get a job. We broke up and I was stuck on Earth with nothing to do and no one to inspire. So, now I write a blog.
