Weekly iPod Wars: Battle #8

In last week's David vs. Goliath battle, Pete Yorn's pleasant little rock managed to bring down giant Gods of Thunder, Led Zeppelin. Well, stranger things have happened, I guess. Like getting a write-in vote for Paula Abdul's "Cold Hearted," courtesy of Brahm.

This week's match-up may be a little more up Brahm's alley, as new champ Yorn goes up against Swedish dance pop maven, Robyn. If the title of her song is any indication, ol' Pete is fighting a losing battle.

Song #1: "Life on a Chain," Pete Yorn

VS.

Song #2: "Indestructible," Robyn

Wow, this was harder than I thought it would be. The synth-pop of Robyn was surprising good.

But I have to go with Yorn. But this is a 53% to 47% win in my mind for him.

I'm going with Robyn. That song would be spectacular on the treadmill and, dammit, that's just how I judge songs.

Going with Robyn. Love her.

I'm going with Pete Yorn. I like a song I can snap my fingers to (since I can't dance, obviously) and Robyn is just not doin' it for me.

Although the Pete Yorn tune got better as it went on, Robyn still gets my vote.
I still love that Pete Yorn track, but my vote is going to Robin.

That was HARD! I thought Robyn had no chance until I listened to her and now....she gets my vote!!

How's that for a turnaround hey?

Ooh, tough one this week, I really like Yorn, but Robyn makes amazing dance music and I love this track!

I give my FIVE votes for Robyn!

See, no Paula Abdul this time. You're welcome....
I vote for Pete Yorn, even though I love Sweden. "10 Years Gone" is a tremendous Zep song. Surprised it got served.
Pete Yorn wins handily. 70% for the song, 30% because Robyn doesn't know how to spell her own name.
