BeckEye's Not-So Excellent Adventures in Fashion

Normally, I dredge up the worst fashion choices of my youth for your amusement, but when I found this picture recently, I knew I finally had a style snapshot that I could display proudly.

Also, I wanted to take this opportunity to ask a favor of you, my dear readers. Could you all get together and take up a collection to buy me a pink satin jacket just like this in an adult size? I need that jacket back in my life.

That is one badass jacket. A recent uncovery of home movies has revealed that I too was quite fond of wearing pink a lot. I however was a boy. Still am, really. And, come to think of it, I still wear a lot of pink shirts. Hmm.

Awww, look how cute and sweet you were. Uh, ARE...

Love the jacket. "Members Only"?

I could totally work that pink.

You look so sweet and innocent. Like you're ready to tell the joke:

Q - How do you wake up Lady Gaga?
A - Poke her face.

Then run off laughing, because no one would have any idea what the EF you were talking about back in the day.
I coveted that "Pink Ladies" jacket only I wanted mine with a monogrammed "L" for Laverne, even though Laverne wasn't really in the Pink Ladies.

Maybe you should let your mum choose more of your clothes????

i'd be worried to wear that jacket currently, only because i have a weird desire to rub myself on it (not in a pervy way! just.. a satiny way! it looks so shiny and.. rubbable!). uh, anyway, my point was that if *i* want to rub up on it, i bet far less desirable people would too.

although after this comment i'm guessing i'm about the least desireable person you want anywhere near you. understandable.

You and your jacket were so awesome you went around with your own color guard!
Working it girl...It is not the jacket, it is you. Go look in the mirror and repeat that...

Those trolls are hiding under the bridge in fear of your awesomeness!
You really should have pursued a career in roller derby. You clearly had the wardrobe for it.

Wow, I had one just like that! And I was that cute as a kid, too. Shame to grow up. :(

Thank you for this post. When I returned to work last week, there was a jar in the lobby labeled "BeckEye's pink satin jacket fund". Now it all makes sense. Even if I have to twist the arms of my co-workers, I'll see to it you get that jacket!
